It's about to be the spookiest day of the year! We hope you have your Jack-o-lanterns ready, gravestones dotting your yard, and plenty of candy stocked up. Just like we don't want your friends scaring you too much when they jump out at you with their creepy masks and costumes, we don't want any security issues to give you a fright.
You can rest easy and continue having fun knowing that we have new security updates available for you at JotForm. A new publish forms interface with better security defaults, a secured database for our European users, and lifted limits on SSL submissions are some of the treats we're handing out! Halloween might be a scary time, but with these new features, you don't have to be worried about monsters!
All JotForm Forms are Now Secure By Default
We recently released a fancy new Publish forms interface. Once your forms are ready for action, just click it on the form builder tool bar, and get the code to publish your forms. And it comes with exciting news- all embed codes are SSL by default. Now it's easier than ever to ensure your form submissions are safe and secure.
Now it's easier than ever to ensure your form submissions are safe and secure.
SSL and Non-SSL Submissions are Now Counted the Same
Now that all form submissions are SSL, we decided that all JotForm secure submissions (SSL) should be counted the same as non-SSL submissions. For paid accounts, this was always the case. Free accounts used to have a 10 SSL/month limit. We lifted this limit to ensure all JotForm users have the option to collect secure submissions.
A recent ruling by the highest court in Europe negated a critical privacy agreement between the EU and the US known as the Safe Harbor framework. It allowed companies like JotForm to freely transfer user data for European users to any of our servers. In the Safe Harbor framework's absence, JotForm is proud to offer its users the option to only store their data in Europe, should they choose to.
This feature is built primarily with European users in mind, so they can continue to use JotForm while enjoying EU data privacy standards. Just turn it on in the Account settings.
Encrypted Forms are Getting Traction with Our Users
Recently JotForm announced its most secure option yet- Encrypted Forms. With it users could ensure their form responses were encrypted before they left their users' computers. They in turn were given a single key to decrypt their responses when they wanted.
JotForm and its staff never have access to a readable version of their data. So far 4,000 forms have been encrypted using this highly robust privacy option. Just make sure not to lose the key!
